ACTIVATION OF NATURAL PROCESSES OF OZONE LAYER RESTORATION AS

IN ACCORDANCE WITH PATENTS OF RUSSIA

Project Concept

Project Idea

  •      First in the history of mankind performance of an experiment for the generation of molecules of artificial balloon ozone with laser techniques. Monitoring of results shall be directly transmitted to a ground control station; video pictures and experiment data together with initial evaluations will be presented 'live' to the mass media; display of the experiment as a symbol of sustainable development in the 21 century via Internet and the achieved results will be registered in the Guinness book of world records.

  • Balloon launch is programmed from Moscow.

Project Objectives

  •      Attraction of the attention of the world community and assist in supporting the International Programme by an establishing International Foundation "InterOzone - 21 century" for financing of the researches on Ozone Layer Restoration by methods of activation of natural processes of ozone generation with laser, space and other techniques, originated in Russia, Germany, USA and other countries. The RF patents No.2041161 dated 03.08.1995 and No. 2090494 dated 20.09.1997 "Method and Space Vehicle for Ozone Layer Restoration". The patentees are Consortium "InterOzone" and Rocket and Space Corporation "Energia".

  •      The results to be expected are in the scientific and technological value concerning the update of a global ozone data base and verification of the feasibility of ozone restoration by active techniques. The acquired data would be very useful for closing the gap between ground-based and satellite (a laser-space generator of ozone) missions..

  •      The balloon experiment data will be directly compared to an ongoing global ozone monitoring satellite experiment performed by a number of the universities in Europe and USA.

  •      Gain of system and technical experience (atmospheric sensor platform).

  •      System engineering application / evolution for global programmes.

  •      Systems delivery in future for global ozone layer of Earth monitoring and restoration programmes.

Partnerships:

  •      Consortium "InterOzone", Rocket and Space Corporation "Energia", "ZNIIMASH" (Russia) responsibility for the complete ozone-balloon project; InterOzone provision of laser facilities, balloon, ground test chamber, transport, integration and launch preparation.

  •      German companies will provide the experiment container, including an atmospheric monitoring platform.

Major steps for experiment implementation

     Assessment of legal and security aspects:

  •      Development/production of laser equipment and monitoring/sensorial equipment

  •      Performance of ground tests in atmospheric chamber

  •      Assembly, preparation and outfitting of the balloon

  •      Launch of radio and ozone sonde (Option)

  •      Launch of the balloon

  •      Transmission of data, evaluation of results and video data

  •      Organization of international seminar, with experiment assessment
